ARMILLAR SPHERE – FRENCH ALLIANCE – SABADELL

FRENCH ALLIANCE SABADELL

French Alliance Sculptural Installation. Sabadell (November 1999).

Patio Casa Taulé. Material: Michelin tractor and truck tires.

The installation consists of placing three inflated tires in the center of the interior courtyard of the Taulé house (French Alliance), creating a spherical shape as if it were a zodiacal armillary sphere.

I would also place three tires that give the impression that they are falling from steps located at the bottom of the skate.

I also placed some tires on the exterior balconies of the building, creating a sense of movement around them, and at the same time I would place four inflated tires in an enclosed space in the courtyard. Inside, I would place some of my inflatable sculptures.

For this reason, I wanted to highlight the object of an armillary sphere that represents the exchange of people from all over the world thanks to the knowledge of languages.

In addition, the tires surround the house from the exterior balconies that overlook the streets, thus representing the movement and circulation of people between countries.
